Deodorant Streaks

Deodorant streaks. We’ve all been victims of having white slashes on our clothing, haven’t we? It doesn’t matter that the can of spray says “no streaks”—in fact, in my experience, the ones that say no streaks LEAVE streaks. And let’s not forget the deodorant that crumbles once you’ve sprayed it, making your armpit look as though you just frosted it like a damn cake and leaves a smattering of talc-like mess on the floor. What the hell is that all about, Imperial Leather brand?

All I want is deodorant that I can spray without this irritating thing going on, and I’ve found the answer. Male deodorant. It doesn’t do this. It’s clearly made from something else, because the spray is transparent like perfume. Okay, I go around smelling like a bloke, but it’s got to be better than B.O., right?

I can’t use roll-ons. I don’t like the wet feeling they leave and having to go around with your hands on your hips while it dries. I don’t like the “stick” version either, where it’s like putting glue onto your pits. And they make me itch like mad.

So, male deodorant is the way forward for me. What about you? Would you wear male deodorant?

If it comes in unscented? Yes, I'd wear male deodorant. Especially in the summer months because I have long suspected it's stronger than the female versions.

But I haven't had a problem with the white streaks in years. Might need to take a look at the brands you're using, girlie. There are like ten thousand of them---and that's MY complaint on just about everything out there for women. There is just too damn much to choose from.

Went in with my middle child two days ago to buy make up. It took us forty minutes. Why? There was just too damn much of it. Too much of a selection. How the hell do you know where to place your money? Which one is better for your skin or smoother. Doesn't dry you out, etc?

I'm all for free enterprise, but dayum. I need one product for everything in my life. Not ninety two for each thing just to confuse me further. AND THEN...there is price to consider after you've narrowed down your selection.

Avon roll-on works for me. Also I use Secret in stick/solid, but clear, that's nice and doesn't clump under my armpits.

ROFLMAO @ "making your armpit look as though you just frosted it like a damn cake!"

You crack me up!

I can't use spray they make me sick so I have to use the stick. I usually use Secret. No clumps or anything like that, but yes I'd use men if I wasn't allergic to it. That's my main problem anything with a strong scent and the migraine from hell comes on.

I've fallen victim to the cake mess before. Not happy! Secret stick is pretty good.

I note with interest that only Marci's avatar has her arms down. Using a nasty spray, is it?

On the advice of my doc, I've used Mitchum for years. And no scent...

Oh how I hate deodorant streaks. I use Invisible Dry from Lady Speed Stick. No cake frosting and no itch. :)

I've been a Ban girl all my life, Baby Poweder scent is my fave, but I'm interested in why Anny's doc recommended Mitchum.

Yep I wear George's old spice all the time. I smell like him all day which is yummy and there are no white streaks, I tried the secret gel that comes through lil holes and smears on it's cold and gooey. I can use secret invisi but it's really NOT invisi as it wears down there's a visible line left on clothing.

While it may be hard to find, I've used the Crystal Deodorant Stick for years, and my husband has also. It's not an designed to be an anti-perspirant, so if sweat stains bother you, then it's not for you. But I got rashes from APs, so I was looking for an environmentally-kind alternative that was chemical-free. This is basically a salt-stick of mineral salts and alum. No odor, EVER. Just wet and rub and you are good to go. And they last forever, unless you drop it on the floor...then just use the pieces.
BTW, love the descriptions! Interesting post.

Yep, Tess, too many out there, but everything I've tried seems to do that white thing. Really bugging!

I can't bear them, Cassie. I prefer to use spray, can't help myself LOL.

LOL Faith. That or sprayed it with fake snow.

Trinity, I don't think we have Secret here, but if it's a stick, I'm not using it!

Emmy Ellis said...

Bless you, Nickie. I bloody hate that!

ROFL James!

We don't have that here, Anny. I'd use one with no scent if it worked ok, though.

Glad you get no frosting, Melissa!

Emmy Ellis said...

Kate...Ban. Oooh, you guys do have a lot to choose from. We don't have that brand here either!

Hales! OMG, I forgot about that stuff that comes through holes. Like worms! Eww!

Emmy Ellis said...

Hmmm, Fiona. I'll see if there's anything like that here in the UK. Thanks!

I've used Sure for years, but it doesn't seem to work so well anymore. They must've taken an ingredient out. The crystal one doesn't work for me here in AZ. when the temps reach over 100. But after reading all the comments, I'm going to try Ban.
LOL ...loved this discussion!

Yeah, um, I use natural stick. No problems with white streaks. I've never used spray. Now those roll ons... That gave me issues. I'm careful with the stuff, though. Many have aluminum in them, which is toxic. Here's an article on that. Of course, everything will kill you nowadays. (g)

Marci Baun said...

Nope, James. I refuse to shave my pits, and my husband doesn't want the masses to know. We decided on arms down. I'm kidding, although there are times when I've considered not shaving them just to torment the poor man. (g)

I've used the crytal one before, too, but it didn't work for me. Others swear by it, but I have to have something like Oil of Olay's deo or some of the Secret brands. The White Tea and Blueberry Secret is my fave so far.

I'll never look at frosted cakes in quite the same way ever again! rofl

Probably not, but here's a tip I learned in the 9th grade. My BFF at the time, Angie, told me to use my brother's toothbrush to get rid of the white deoderant streaks on my clothes. It works. And my brother, the germophobe, Damon never knew!

Sylvie, I haven't tried Sure for a long time. Dove was all right but it's so bleedin' expensive!

Emmy Ellis said...

Marci, I must check into this natural business!

:o)

Emmy Ellis said...

Faith, I want some bloody Secret! LOL Wonder if I can get it on eBay?

:o)

HAHAHAHA Sherry!

Sarah, when I get things straightened around over here, I'll look at amazon.com and see if they have it. I've sent pals shampoo, lotion, vitamins, etc., to them from amazon before!

Emmy Ellis said...

Cool, Faith, thanks!

I use a Secret deodorant that smells like baby powder and I share it with hubby, so we both smell like babies. Also no white streaks on our clothes.

LOL @ both smelling like babies.
