Remember This, Sucker...

Pet Peeve: Those WordPress blogs that make you sign in to WordPress.com to comment. OMG! how I hate that. And that is after I've filled in the email address/name/website form, typed up my comment, completed the chapcha and still you want me to sign in? WTH? Because the other thing about that is that it happens just infrequently enough that I always forget my WordPress.com password.
So I either decide not to comment, in which case everyone thinks I'm a stuck up snob for never vising any of their blogs, or I have to go through the trouble of filling out the forgotten password form, wait for the email, and the link to reset, chose a password I'll be sure will be easy to remember for next time, by which time I not only forget what I was going to say to the post, but also, what the post was even about, and what blog I had been reading, and then my coffee break is over, and I have not bought another coffee to bring back to my desk, and then, as if that is not enough, I have to sign back into my work computer and I try three times with my home computer password and only realize the mistake after I've been locked out of the system and am forced to call IT. They know my name there.Hell, they know my kids names, there. We'll be exchanging Christmas cards and BBQ sauce recipes next, I call in so often to get my password reset. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they have a direct line, just for me.There is also the fact that at work, I have three systems I have to remember passwords for. And there are rules. No using a password I've used in the past 12 months (and I have to change all three passwords every three months) and no using kid's names, pet name's, birthdays, anniversaries, or the same password for all three systems, and it has to be different from my userid. And I have to use a number, letter, symbol, capital letter, french character, favorite colour and the director's great aunt's half brother's dog's second nickname initial.

Sorry. What was I talking about again? I got kicked out and had to sign back in...

what is it about computers that is supposed to make them better that you think is just a royal pain in your you-know-what

Some these stupid captchas you can't even read. And it becomes an infernal loop.

Today I am dealing with cleaning out email. I had over 61K emails in my inbox. Despite the fact that I delete and delete and delete, I still have 61K messages. It's no wonder things get lost or disappear completely. I am just waiting for Apple Mail to sync with my Google apps. It is fun. So far, my Apple Mail says I have 53658 messages. O.O I have deleted some 20K messages so far. I think I will just have to wait a bit. LOL I've gotten overzealous. LOL

Um...OMG. Just....wow, that's a lot of emails. O.o Are you, like on every spam list in the universe? Or did you loose the delete button? (Says the girl who has upwards of 60 labels for her gmail mailbox...)

Oh, wow. Don't even get me started on those things. So many blogs dont cooperate with my server!

I know, Faith, right? THere are few things that get me as annoyed as technology manages to do, and few things about technology get me as ticked as trying to comment on a blog and having to jump through a million hoops to do it.

I delete, Jaime, but it doesn't seem to delete the emails. I kid you not. The other day, I deleted 1500 emails. The next day, these same emails reappeared in my inbox. WTF! How the hell did that happen?

For instance, in the interface on Google on my Gmail account it says I have 10,000 emails (2700 unread). In Apple Mail, it says I have 20157 and 4614 unread. So, I am deleting, but something weird is happening. I am not happy. At. All.

okay, well that's just weird.

The Wordpress "enter your password" thing when I try to comment drives me BATSPIT. Especially since no matter which password I enter (I have three Wordpress passwords under this name, one for my own website and one each for two Wordpress group blogs I belong to) it tells me I've entered the wrong password.

Really sucked when I was a guest on someone's Wordpress blog and couldn't respond to reader comments because it kept claiming I'd entered the wrong password...
