Piggy Love

by Valerie Mann

I love to see something that can surprise me so fast and hard, I bark out loud. I’m not talking about a mere funny that makes me laugh. Or even makes me LOL. I’m talking about the things that make me ROTFLMAO…those are the keepers. And if it can keep me laughing, even after a dozen or more views...even better!

Absurd interpretation is perfection.

But sometimes, what I think is belly-busting funny, irritates the living hell out of the people around me. The Geico insurance commercials are classics. They either crack you up or piss off everyone around you. Usually because you're making an idiot of yourself laughing at something they don't get. Either way, whichever ad agency Geico contracted has total geniuses on staff.

Hipster Cavemen with attitude? Check!

Adorable Southern Belle pothole? Check!

But, the most genius of all is Maxwell the Pig.
When he wee, wee, wees all the way home, I completely crack up. My family hates it. To add insult to injury, it's my cell phone ringtone (it was free. Geico is friendly that way). My co-workers think there's a baby crying in my purse when my phone rings. Their disgust only adds to my hilarity.

Cute-as-hell Pig guaranteed to piss off family and friends? Check, check!!

So what makes YOU laugh, but annoys the hell out of everyone else around you?

There are some commercials that have me laughing, usually the ones that run at the time of the super bowl.

I love piggy too! My favorite commercials are the E-trade baby commercials. I especially love the one where he's on the plane with his buddy, the pilot comes on the loudspeaker and the buddy yells, "Dad?"

I love Geico's cavemen, the E-trade baby and the new Direct TV ones!

I haven't seen the Direct TV ads. I'll have to be on the lookout. The E-Trade babies are funny, too. The facial expressions are priceless!

Oh my gosh, I almost spit my breakfast all over the computer from laughing at the pig. I've never seen that one before, nor the pothole.

Have you seen the new pig one? On the zip line? It's worse! I mean better...no I mean worse...watch for it lol.And if you can figure out what the pig says to the guy he's passing would you tell me so I can tell the hubs...he cracks up at the pig but can't figure out what he's saying LOL

I have a very warped sense of humor that's often dark. Either zaniness claims me and no one knows what in the hell I'm laughing at or I'll pop off about something dark. I'm the girl on the movie Jason X who says, sure poke your head outside with a maniacal killer on the loose (I'm paraphrasing, but to me it's a hysterically funny line).

As for the pig...I'm on the fence with that one. The wee-ing gets on my wires, but I do like the way he has that deep teen boy voice and suddenly switches from the wee-ing to the "dude" type voice. On the zip line it's the li'l snort he does at the end of "pure adrenaline" that gave me a chuckle.

is that what the pig is saying? I am never paying attention and the hubs says what does he say? And he's cracking up LOL Thanks Faith!

Yup, lol, it's pure adrenaline. It took me about half a dozen times of hearing it before I realized what he was saying.

Oh, I forgot about he e-Trade baby, Alexa! I love those, especially the one where the baby friend is in the back of the plane crying and shouts "my ears hurt!" and the e-Trade baby yells back, "swallow!" I lost it when I first saw that one.

Have you guys seen the shark snickers commercial? That is fuuuuunnnnnny. Eat two. HAHAHAHA!!

I love the shark! I actually went out and bought the candy bar...which is not as good as the commercial.

OMG are we clones. LOL The things I find funny makes my family think I'm losing my mind. I love the piggy commercial! He is so adroable. :) I loved the Cavemen until they made it into a TV series.
The Old Spice guy is just hot.

I had to turn on the closed captioning on my TV to figure out what Maxwell said. I'm glad I'm not the only one who couldn't understand it either. My husband can read lips very well but evidently pig lips aren't part of that skill because he was clueless, too.

The pig is Maxwell?

Lily loves the commercial, but I'm not sold. And the cavemen commercials don't do it for me either. I don't hate them, I just don't care about them.

When I was a kid, I loved those Big Mac Attack commercials, but I can't find the original ones to link to.

My humor is quirky and warped, and often dark. Hm... I sound a bit like Faith. (g) I can't think of a commercial at the moment that does it for me. Perhaps because I fast forward through them. (g)

Good to know, Kate. I haven't tried the candy bar yet, but I was tempted just because of how funny the commercial was. As far as what the freakin' pig says, am I missing something? He says 'wee wee wee'. I thought that was a no brainer. What am I missing here? Maybe I'm the one with no brain? Or just the one who has a better memory of what to do with one's toes when one is bored??

Hah! The pig was cute the first dozen times, but they play it so much it gets irritating.
I love the commercials for Shelter insurance. They have the dog that's worried about his bone being stolen by the cat burglar. The most recent one he finds a female and starts having babies, and you see the dog-house with an addition added on at the end of the commercial. Need more insurance... I love those ones.

Not a fan of the pig, sorry to say. I haven't really been paying attention to commercials much--too busy writing. LOL But I loved the Pentium Processor commercials from the late 90s with the Blue Man Group! Too funny!

I donno if this one has been on TV yet, but I like the new Progressive commercial with Sonic the Hedgehog. The part at the end where Flo and her friend turn into cartoons is epic. XD!
